School completed; sports hall in tender phase

The school includes a middle school and a high school, with 36 classrooms in three wings, and a sports hall with a sports field on its roof. Topography-oriented design on an extremely steep lot. A covered, columned floor serves as a courtyard at the entrance to each wing. Facades clad in unique mashrabiya.
Between the classroom buildings and the courtyard is a passage space on columns in a Greek stoa style, used as an informal area that encourages encounters among teachers and students and among students themselves. This kind of shady space is especially important in harsh climates. The mashrabiya integrates into the building as part of the climatic planning and helps soften the transition from the interior to the outside. The mashrabiya also illustrates the fruitful combination of construction and architecture – an engineering element for shading and reducing heat that contributes to the building's aesthetics and artistic dimension. The play of light and shadow creates spectacular patterns along the corridors, forming scenes visible through the concrete lacework.
